Trying to figure out how to get the different endings for ‘Inside the box?’ How does he work? Here’s a quick run-down.

Triggers: The creature has 4 different kinds of trigger, these are things that will cause him to doubt you and potentially end your run. These triggers will result in different endings, they are:

• LOST ENDING: 
  • Asking Questions: If you ask questions of the creature, it will state that it doesn’t like them. You only get one warning, ask again and you will get the ‘lost’ ending.
  • Being evasive: If you become scared and don’t answer questions at all (as in asking to be set free), the creature will be annoyed. Only one warning, if you do it again, you’ll never go home.
• IMPERSONATION ENDING: 
  • Revealing your personal information: If you choose to reveal any personal information to the creature, he will ask you to elaborate and tell him more, if you do, you will get the ‘impersonation’ ending. If you say ‘no’ to his request, he will be angry, but will spare you. But if you share personal information a second time, you will not get another chance…
  • OR - When he asks you to let him escape to ‘your realm’, if you choose ‘yes’, he will take your place. 
• TRAPPED ENDING:
  • Acting suspiciously: The creature will become angry if you pick answers that annoy it (the walkthrough below explains which answer trigger him). Again, you’ll get one warning, but act suspiciously a second time and you will achieve the trapped ending.  Specifically picking 'it was anti-climatic' and 'This is my home actually' or 'The Crooked Man can't help you.'
• FREEDOM ENDING
• Do not trigger the creature: If you want to be safe, don’t trigger the creature at all. It is possible. Alternatively, trigger him once, but not in the same category (e.g. you can trigger him once for being evasive and once for being suspicious, but if you trigger either again, your run will end).
• Never reach for the box
• Do not ask a question (until you’re outside of the Neverplace)

• Key question answers:
  • Do you believe there’s a trap?: Yes or No
  • Did you like the paradox?: Answer ‘yes’ or ‘no’
    • If no: Answer ‘it was unsettling’.
  • Where are you from? What is it like? ‘It is a realm different to this one’
  • Do you know the Crooked Man? ‘I know of him’.
  • Do not deny me my right to see your world ‘No. Follow the voice.’
