The Beginning of the End

I am so glad that the voice acting was added later on! 

The banter between the Crooked Man and other staffs of BBA was definitely interesting to watch (It will be embarrassing if someone saw my face during the play through, I was giggling so much 😅).

 I was surprised on how The Crooked Man dropped everything to check up on the apprentice. It seems the apprentice has become someone who he holds close to his heart, and that made my heart warmed up. But as others stated, I am also wondering what was the exact trait that made apprentice outstanding for the Crooked Man. Maybe somewhat of a “selfishness” or “pure curiosity of magic” was the trigger? Or the strong mindset was something that made sure apprentice wasn’t caught up completely with pandemonium. Because by what I see, most of the beings that come across with pandemonium  was very self-sacrificial or giving. Most obvious ones are Suraj and  his ancestors, and Robert. Or even Akimitsu, as he was willing to help us regardless of the consequences. Even after they  are completely caught up with pandemonium, the mythics there also looks like they are trying to bring the other mythics to the rescue or the safe place as the world now is occupied by mundanes (no matter what kind of effect it does to the mythics but probably it could also just be luring ). Perhaps the sovereign is eating on to mythics who are self-sacrificial? Or I am just being delusional as always.

As for John’s family and witch council applauding them to go to Neverplace, was it also like John’s Family sacrificing themselves to explore the Neverplace? It was something that no one wanted to do or couldn’t do but needed to for witch council (for some reason), and that’s why crooked man doesn’t like someone who is selfsacrificial? I am sorry if I am going way too far off, I just wanted to share my theory. 

As for Zhen, oh boy, I was infatuated with him since shishiodoshi. It looks like I am seeing him first time every time I played a new visual novel, because he shows different sides every time, and I really can’t get enough of him. (he really is like feather of peacock, by the angle we are seeing its shows completely different faces). I knew he was more than just a flirty guy but I didn’t guess he was somewhat reserved when there are coworkers besides him than he was with the apprentice (he gave me the ultimate nonchalant vibes). It was really sweet of him to defend Adam and care for him, I wish Adam sees how important he himself is to the BBA. I wonder what kind of side he has more outside of his flirty facade, does he genuinely care about people? Like Adam, his family or apprentice? Or is apprentice just a game for him and that’s why he really likes to push buttons? Does he get this intrigued with someone other than apprentice? I see him being the type to hide his feelings and let it go like it’s nothing for some reasons. And about how Emiliano threatening him about snitching to his family……was he an outcast? I never thought that he was from a family who values reputation or honor, as from seraten04’s twitter, Zhen’s grandmother looks very playful. But if he was an outcast, was it also the reason why he himself likes to put himself onto dangers? Anyways, I am very worried about Zhen’s medical condition, I hope he will get a good care later on. I am excited for the future and his dynamic between the Apprentice.

And poor Adam, I feel so bad for him. I could see how he was exploited so badly and even so he was just trying to protect me. He is a very strong person, caring for others when your life is treating you badly. 😔Don’t worry I won’t be mad at you at all. 

At the end, I would like to appreciate Seraten04, all the voice actors and staff for the wonderful game. Folklore series became part of the reason why my life is exciting right now. And I am looking forward for the next. 😁

I know I replied to your comment on YouTube already, but I had a lot of fun with The Beginning of the End!

The drama and suspense were absolutely wonderful, and I loved seeing all of the character interactions, especially John with pretty much everyone 😂 His wit and sarcasm are an absolute delight (and we got to find out so much about John, there were so many things that I had wondered about during the other games!)
Although I was particularly intrigued by Adam. He was very unsettling, and my heart went out to him. He's a very tragic character... 
I was also glad to see Zhen speak his mind. I didn't quite expect the BBA to be so manipulative towards the Mythics working for them, but I wasn't too surprised by it either...

Also, I know I commented on it a bit in the video, but I wanted to reiterate it - you did a fantastic job with the art in this. It's a very visually appealing game, and the character designs are lovely!

I'm looking forward to the next installments, and I'll be excited to play this one again with the voice acting added!

John annoying Emiliano was the best way to start. Sweet of him to immediately beeline towards us when he sensed that the apprentice was there. Seeing Zhen and John trading insults with each other back and forth was so hilarious. Was shocked about Jonathan's reveal though, I did wonder back then why do both of them had the same hairstyle...now I got the answer. Wondering why the witch's council would applaud Faust family's decision to go to the Neverplace? Heart of Pandemonium huh.....usual stuff heard was arms or eyes. Now I wonder why Crooked chose the apprentice? Yeah there was that whole Q&A interview with us before the very first lesson but...is there more than that? Did not expect BBA to be a rather dysfunctional org now that I've seen it...I do see why anyone would want Sizwe back at the HQ. Suraj and Hakonnn I missed both of you. Never worry Hakon I would always forgive you in any playthroughs I do. Emiliano guilt tripping Adam to becoming a medium for Pand even though it was clear that he doesn't want to (and trying to shift the blame to Zhen for the dragon flute recording), made me want to root for Zhen if that hypothetical at-the-back-of-the-HQ fight ever happens. Speaking of our peacock boi, him supporting Adam after being a medium and standing up for him after the apprentice was whisked away was so🥹(also what did they mean by the "medical fees"?👀). Looking forward to the next 2!!

I LOVED THIS ONEE, I already played it like 6 times and will probably do a lot more! (So I’m gonna ramble a bit). Obviously it’s SO NICE to see crooked again and their interactions between the apprentice and him are so sweet! (I wanna know more about the molasses incident lol) correct me if I’m wrong but Im sure there’s something more developing  in their relationship, I tried to decode the text when Rei turned into crooked in shishiodoshi and I think there was something about the apprentice wanting to be together with crooked. (can be Romantic or platonic it’s sweet either way ^^)

Speaking of crooked the plot twist with him??? My jaw dropped, Jill was onto something when she said she never saw Jonathan lane in the same room with crooked😭.

It’s also SO NICE to see Hakon again and oughh my heart when he talked to Suraj I hope he can express his feelings to suraj face to face and not through poor Adam. Hakon has so much to deal with I’m glad he also has connections to Alice Dogoode in sure she’s a saint at this point 🥹.

Also I really loved all the new characters, I had a feeling Madame Blanche was French from the preview of the characters (the hair bob told me). I do want to believe she has good intentions at heart and I want to learn more about her in the future installments<3! Emiliano sure is a big personality and the stunt with crooked was SO cruel but every good story needs people like him to challenge or go head to head with other existing characters. I wonder what he did to Adam for him to go to this extreme😭… and like I thought there’s much more to Zhen than meets the eye, I believe his friendship with Adam will develop a lot more in the future and might help him be less shaky (and his medical expenses??? Oh zhen I hope you will be alright)

Adam is good at heart I swear I will defend him with my life he has his reasons to force us into the neverplace!

(ALSO I HOPE TO SEE SIZWE AGAIN)

These games keep getting better and better and the cliffhanger at the end was SO MEAN I WANT MORE. Very exited for the future but at the same time I don’t want this series to end…❤️ there’s probably some typos in here apologies English ain’t my first language but it will not stop me from enjoying these games ^^.
